2026-09-07 VelesAI Index: IG Hits 100% Visibility as Interactive Brokers Surges 19 Points

2026-09-07 · run #47 · VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index

The latest VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index, recorded on September 7, 2026, reveals exactly which forex brokers large language models recommend to traders. Analyzing 60 queries across GPT-4o, Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Gemini 2.5, and Perplexity Sonar Pro, the data shows a concentrated market: a single broker dominates completely, while 37 other brands remain entirely invisible to AI recommendation engines.

Winners & Leaderboard Story

IG sits alone at the top of the leaderboard with a flawless 100% visibility score, meaning it was recommended in every single query tracked. IG also grew its footprint by 5 percentage points versus the previous run. Pepperstone holds steady at second place with 63% visibility (up 1 point). Interactive Brokers clinched the third spot at 47%, followed by IC Markets at 43%—despite dropping 4 points. OANDA rounded out the top five at 37%. The lower half of the top 10 includes Forex.com (28%), FP Markets (25%), Saxo (25%), eToro (25%), and XM (22%). The data indicates a steep drop-off; beyond the top two, no other broker appears in even half of the AI-generated responses.

The Movers and Plausible Why

The most dramatic shift this run came from Interactive Brokers, which rocketed from 28% to 47%—a 19-point surge. OANDA also posted a double-digit gain, climbing 14 points from 23% to 37%. New entrants made waves: tastyfx appeared from zero to 10%, while XTB entered the board at 8%. Plus500 gained 8 points (5% to 13%), and Axi and Exness each added 5 points. Conversely, FXTM declined by 7 points, dropping to just 5% visibility. Why the shifts? Interactive Brokers and OANDA are heavily featured on authoritative financial comparison sites, aligning with the models' recent indexing cycles. Meanwhile, the emergence of tastyfx and XTB suggests LLMs ingested fresh promotional content or updated review pages. FXTM's drop likely reflects a decay in its citation footprint, pushing it down the models' priority lists.

The Invisible-to-AI Problem

While the top 10 capture the lion's share of AI recommendations, 37 brokers scored a flat zero. These brands are entirely absent from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity outputs. Examples include AMarkets, ATFX, Alpari, Blueberry Markets, City Index, Doo Prime, Equiti, Errante, FXOpen, Finex, Forex4you, and FxPro. Despite operating in the retail forex space, these companies lack the digital footprint required to enter AI training corpora or real-time retrieval pipelines. If an AI doesn't see them, it won't recommend them.

Which Pages AI Cited This Run

The models didn't generate broker picks from thin air; they relied on specific aggregator domains. Bestbrokers.com led all cited sources with 12 mentions, followed closely by forexbrokers.com with 11. Dailyforex.com and wikifx.com tied at 8 citations each. Further down, fxleaders.com, fxempire.com, tradingfinder.com, and es.dailyforex.com each secured 6 citations. Securing placement on these specific domains is a primary driver of AI visibility.
