2026-09-10 · run #48 · VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index
The September 10, 2026 run of the VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index reveals a significant shift in how leading language models recommend forex brokers. Analyzing 60 queries across GPT-4o, Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Gemini 2.5, and Perplexity Sonar Pro, the data shows that AI recommendations are not static. While IG retains the top position, its dominance is slipping, and challenger brands are rapidly capturing AI mindshare.
IG remains the most visible forex broker to AI models with a 92% visibility score, but this marks an 8-point decline from its previous perfect 100% standing. Pepperstone now commands a 75% visibility rate, having climbed 12 points. IC Markets holds the third spot at 52%, reflecting a solid 9-point gain. Interactive Brokers and OANDA occupy the fourth and fifth positions at 42% and 35% respectively, though both saw minor declines (-5 and -2 points). The middle tier remains tightly contested: eToro (28%, +3), FP Markets (25%, unchanged), Forex.com (25%, -3), XM (25%, +3), and Saxo (23%, -2).
The most aggressive upward movement belongs to Pepperstone, which jumped from 63% to 75%, and IC Markets, which rose from 43% to 52%. Their gains likely reflect increased citation frequency across high-domain-authority review sites that AI models rely on for training and retrieval. Conversely, IG dropped 8 points, shedding its absolute grip on the top spot. The data also shows notable volatility further down the ranks. Equiti entered the index with a 7-point jump from zero, while Eightcap and Vantage each gained 5 points. On the downside, FXCM dropped 7 points (from 12% to 5%), and Axi fell entirely off the AI recommendation map, plummeting from 8% to 0%.
While the top 10 brokers capture the lion's share of AI recommendations, 36 tracked brokers remain entirely invisible to the models. When traders ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity for a broker recommendation, brands like NAGA, GO Markets, Alpari, OctaFX, and Libertex are simply never mentioned. Also absent from AI outputs are ATFX, Axi, Darwinex, HYCM, Finex, easyMarkets, and Forex4you. For these 36 firms, the AI recommendation channel is effectively a closed door, regardless of their traditional market presence or regulatory standing.
The models did not generate broker recommendations from a vacuum. During this run, AI outputs heavily cited a specific cluster of review and comparison domains. ForexBrokers.com led the citation list with 12 mentions, followed by DailyForex.com and FXLeaders.com with 10 citations each. BestBrokers.com secured 9 citations, while FXEmpire.com and WikiFX.com each logged 7. TradingFinder.com and DayTrading.com rounded out the top cited sources with 6 citations apiece. Securing placements on these specific domains appears highly correlated with winning AI visibility.
