IG Still Owns AI Visibility at 88% — But Slipped 5 Points in VelesAI's September 24 Forex Index

2026-09-24 · run #52 · VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index

The latest VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index, run on September 24, 2026, measured 60 queries across GPT-4o, Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Gemini 2.5 and Perplexity Sonar Pro to see which forex brokers AI assistants actually recommend. The headline: IG remains the dominant name in AI answers, appearing in 88% of responses — but that's down 5 points from 93% in the previous run. Meanwhile, 37 brokers were completely invisible to the models.

The Leaderboard

IG sits far ahead of the field at 88% visibility, even after its 5-point drop. Pepperstone holds second place at 57%, down 6 points from 63%. IC Markets is third at 40%, unchanged. Interactive Brokers gained 3 points to reach 38%, closing in on the podium.

The mid-table is tight: eToro climbed 6 points to 23%, overtaking OANDA (22%, down 1). Forex.com, Saxo and XM are all level at 20% — Forex.com up 3, Saxo flat, XM down 2. AvaTrade rounds out the top 10 at 18%, unchanged.

The Movers

tastyfx posted the biggest jump, rising from 3% to 12% — a 9-point gain that puts it on the edge of the top 10. eToro's 6-point climb to 23% was the second-largest gain, while Admirals added 4 points to reach 7%.

On the downside, Exness fell 7 points from 15% to 8%, dropping out of the top 10 entirely. FP Markets mirrored that slide, falling from 20% to 13%. Pepperstone's 6-point decline and IG's 5-point slide suggest the leaders are losing ground to rising challengers like tastyfx and eToro. Axi fell from 3% to 0%, vanishing from AI answers altogether.

The Invisible-to-AI Problem

Thirty-seven brokers received zero visibility this run. The list includes names with substantial retail footprints: Capital.com, Alpari, ATFX, FXOpen, Blueberry Markets, Darwinex, Doo Prime, AMarkets, Errante, Forex4you and Finex — plus Axi, which dropped off the index entirely. For these brands, the fastest-growing discovery channel in trading — asking an AI assistant for a broker recommendation — simply doesn't exist.

What AI Is Reading

The models' recommendations are anchored in a small set of sources. forexbrokers.com was cited 26 times, the most of any domain. dailyforex.com followed with 17 citations, fxempire.com with 12, and daytrading.com with 10. Investopedia, fxleaders.com, bestbrokers.com and compareforexbrokers.com each logged 9 citations. Brokers and agencies tracking this index should note: visibility in AI answers is downstream of visibility on these eight sites.
