AI Visibility Index: August 20, 2026 — IG Dominates at 93% While Forex.com Takes a 9-Point Hit

2026-08-20 · run #41 · VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index

The latest VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index, run on August 20, 2026, reveals which brokers are actually being recommended by GPT-4o, Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Gemini 2.5, and Perplexity Sonar Pro across 60 queries. The data shows a concentrated market: IG commands a near-total presence, while 35 brokers remain entirely invisible to AI models.

Winners and the Leaderboard

IG holds an unassailable lead with a 93% visibility percentage, unchanged from the previous run. Pepperstone follows in second place at 55%, though it slipped 2 points. IC Markets holds steady at 38%, while Interactive Brokers dropped 2 points to 30%. OANDA and FP Markets saw marginal 1-point gains to reach 28% and 23%, respectively. XM gained 3 points to hit 20%. The bottom half of the top 10 saw declines: Forex.com and eToro both dropped to 18% (down 9 and 4 points, respectively), while AvaTrade remained flat at 17%.

The Movers and Plausible Why

The most dramatic shifts occurred just outside the upper tier. FXCM surged 10 points, climbing from 3% to 13%. Conversely, Saxo plummeted 10 points, dropping from 22% to 12%, and CMC Markets fell 8 points, landing at 12%. Forex.com’s 9-point slide from 27% to 18% represents a significant loss of AI visibility. FXTM dropped 7 points to 5%, and Vantage fell 5 points to 3%. Fusion Markets moved up 4 points to 12%.

Why the volatility? AI models prioritize recent, authoritative content. Brokers like Saxo, CMC Markets, and Forex.com likely lost visibility because their recent digital footprint—press coverage, updated reviews, and active SEO content—was outpaced by competitors. FXCM’s 10-point surge suggests a recent spike in fresh, model-crawlable content or high-authority mentions, pushing it ahead in AI retrieval rankings.

The Invisible-to-AI Problem

While the top 10 capture the bulk of AI recommendations, 35 brokers received zero visibility. These include NAGA, Alpari, Forex4you, ATFX, OctaFX, Libertex, Axi, Darwinex, HYCM, Finex, HF Markets, and easyMarkets. If an AI model does not see a broker, it cannot recommend it to a trader. This invisibility means these brands are entirely excluded from the AI-driven decision-making funnel, regardless of their actual trading conditions or regulatory standing.

Which Pages AI Cited This Run

AI models are not generating broker rankings from thin air; they synthesize existing web sources. During this run, forexbrokers.com was the most cited domain, referenced 11 times. Bestbrokers.com followed with 9 citations, and dailyforex.com appeared 7 times. Investopedia.com secured 5 citations, while fxempire.com was cited 4 times. Stockbrokers.com, tradingpedia.com, and myfxbook.com each logged 3 citations. These domains act as the primary gatekeepers of AI visibility in the forex space.
