2026-09-01 · run #45 · VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index
The September 2026 run of the VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index reveals a stark hierarchy in how leading AI models recommend forex brokers. Analyzing 60 queries across GPT-4o, Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Gemini 2.5, and Perplexity Sonar Pro, the data shows IG retaining an overwhelming grip on AI visibility at 92%, while 38 brokers remain entirely invisible to the algorithms traders increasingly rely on.
IG continues to set the pace with a 92% visibility percentage, though it dipped 1 point from the previous run. Pepperstone holds second place at 53%, down 4 points. The most notable leaderboard climber is IC Markets, which rose 5 points to secure the third spot at 42%. Interactive Brokers sits fourth at 27% (down 1 point), followed by FP Markets at 23% (up 3 points). OANDA and eToro are tied at 20%, though their momentum diverges: OANDA gained 5 points, while eToro lost 2. Rounding out the top 10 are XM at 18% (up 1 point), Saxo at 17% (flat), and AvaTrade at 13% (down 7 points).
The biggest volatility occurred outside the upper echelons. Plus500 suffered the steepest drop, plummeting 8 points from 13% to 5%. AvaTrade and Tickmill both fell by 7 points, with AvaTrade dropping from 20% to 13% and Tickmill sliding to 13% from 20%. Exness also dropped 7 points, falling to 8% from 15%, while Admirals lost 5 points (down to 7% from 12%) and Forex.com declined 5 points to 13%. These declines likely stem from AI models prioritizing highly authoritative, frequently updated aggregator content over individual broker sites, pushing brands with weaker off-page SEO further down the recommendation queue. Conversely, Axi surged 6 points, climbing from 2% to 8%. IC Markets also posted a strong 5-point gain, moving from 37% to 42%. These upward movers appear to have solidified their presence on the review domains that AI models actively scan and trust.
While the top 10 capture the lion's share of AI recommendations, 38 brokers recorded a 0% visibility rate. Brands completely absent from AI outputs include ATFX, Alpari, Blueberry Markets, City Index, Darwinex, Doo Prime, Equiti, Errante, FXOpen, Finex, Forex4you, and GO Markets. For these brokers, being invisible to AI means losing access to a rapidly growing channel of trader acquisition, rendering traditional SEO insufficient for algorithmic recommendations.
AI models are not generating broker recommendations in a vacuum; they are heavily anchored by a handful of established review domains. Forexbrokers.com led all cited sources this run with 12 citations, followed by bestbrokers.com with 8. Dailyforex.com secured 6 citations, while Investopedia.com and myfxbook.com tied at 5 each. Wikifx.com, fxleaders.com, and fxempire.com each logged 4 citations. Securing placement on these specific domains is critical for any broker aiming to penetrate the AI recommendation layer.
