September 2026: IG Dominates AI Forex Recommendations as 38 Brokers Go Invisible

2026-09-03 · run #46 · VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index

AI models are consolidating their forex broker recommendations, leaving a handful of brands to capture the lion's share of visibility while dozens of competitors remain entirely absent from the conversation. According to the September 3, 2026, VelesAI Forex AI Visibility Index, which analyzed 60 queries across GPT-4o, Claude Opus/Sonnet/Haiku, Gemini 2.5, and Perplexity Sonar Pro, IG holds an overwhelming lead with a 95% visibility rate, up 3 percentage points from the previous run.

Winners and the Leaderboard

IG’s 95% visibility score means the broker appears in the vast majority of AI-generated recommendations for forex traders. Pepperstone holds a distant second place at 62%, marking a 9-point gain. IC Markets follows at 47% (+5). The mid-tier is tightly contested: Interactive Brokers sits at 28% (+1), while Saxo (25%), Forex.com (23%), OANDA (23%), and eToro (23%) cluster closely together. Rounding out the top 10 are FP Markets and XM, both capturing 20% visibility, though FP Markets slipped by 3 points while XM gained 2. The data reveals a steep drop-off; beyond the top three, no other broker surpasses a 28% visibility score.

The Movers and Plausible Why

The most significant shifts this run came from aggressive climbers. Forex.com posted the largest jump, surging 10 points from 13% to 23%. Pepperstone gained 9 points (from 53% to 62%), and Saxo climbed 8 points (from 17% to 25%). CMC Markets also rose 7 points, moving from 10% to 17%, and FXTM gained 5 points (from 7% to 12%). Conversely, Axi dropped 5 points, falling from 8% to 3%. The upward trajectory for Forex.com, Pepperstone, and Saxo aligns with their strong presences on high-authority review sites. As AI models increasingly rely on curated aggregator data, brokers featured prominently on top-ranking review pages are mechanically favored in the model outputs.

The Invisible-to-AI Problem

While the top 10 capture most of the AI mindshare, 38 brokers recorded a 0% visibility rate—they are completely invisible to AI recommendations. Brands including NAGA, GO Markets, Alpari, OctaFX, XTB, and Darwinex failed to appear in any model responses. For these companies, the AI discovery channel is effectively closed. Traders relying on AI assistants for broker research will simply never see these options, regardless of their regulatory standing or trading conditions.

Which Pages AI Cited This Run

The models' recommendations are heavily dictated by a narrow set of external domains. Forexbrokers.com led all cited sources with 13 mentions, followed by Bestbrokers.com with 8 and Dailyforex.com with 6. Investopedia accounted for 5 citations, while Wikifx.com and Fxleaders.com trailed with 4 and 3, respectively. Two niche domains—Forex.mobile and Newyorkcityservers.com—also registered 3 citations each. This concentration confirms that AI models are synthesizing broker recommendations from a limited pool of traditional review aggregators rather than pulling from diverse or proprietary data.
